What is StridePay?
Is StridePay Legit? At Webtested we’ve committed to testing every walking app available on iOS to give you the full rundown on how much you can earn walking. StridePay is another walking app that promises to pay you for walking. Whilst having a slightly different interface the application is very similar to that of Walkio, which is likely owned by the same developers at WalkBoost. Both of them applications can generate you some reward, but how about StridePay?
How Does It Pay?
StridePay claims to offer withdrawal methods via PayPal, Payoneer, Amazon, Mastercard, PayPay, LinePay VISA and Cashapp. These are identical to WalkBoost and Walkio, hence why they’re likely all connected. That’s a generous amount of payment methods, but does StridePay actually pay?
StridePay Reviews
StridePay is rated 4.2 on the app store at the time of writing. That would be a score that would make you think StridePay is a legitimately paying application. It’s an identical score to WalkBoost and slightly lower than Walkio.
The reviews are a mixture. Some singing praises, some questioning the legitimacy of the app. We’d recommend you read our full article instead of taking too much notice of easy manipulated iOS reviews.
Our In-Depth Investigation
Upon downloading StridePay it will link up to your iOS health app and that’s how your steps will be calculated. You do not need to have the application open for it to track your steps. Infact, walking is probably the slowest way to boost your balance.
As with their sister applications StridePay is more about encouraging you to watch long, draining video advertisements instead of walking. That wouldn’t be so bad though, if you get paid for it. Once again, similar to their sister apps, we need a balance of 30,000 to withdraw.
Here at Webtested we want to save you time avoiding scammy applications. That’s why we got walking (or watching…) to achieve the balance of 30,000 to withdraw our $30. Unlike WalkBoost and Walkio, will StridePay actually let us withdraw our $30? You’re probably already noticing the direction we’re going here. Rather unsurprisingly after a lot of hard work to achieve the withdraw-able balance…
Originally, when trying to redeem our prize we were told we needed to obtain 50 ‘$30’ fragments, in a scam almost identical to cashing out with Walkio. However, as you see above, instead the application just continually says we have insufficient energy meaning we cannot withdraw at all.
A twist in the tale, however. A couple of days after attempting our withdrawal, we received this email:
StridePay is reaching out to say it’s received our $30 withdrawal request. However, to get paid, we’re required to post a video to TikTok or Instagram to receive our payment?! Although at Webtested we like to test all aspects of the scam, we are drawing the line at making a TikTok video to promote this app. It’s very likely these scammers will hijack your video, possibly using it to create advertisements for their scam app.
It would make no sense to complete this task. It’s too easy on StridePay to reach the withdrawal thresholds, if you were to get ‘paid out’ for creating the video, what happens when you next reach the withdrawal threshold? Do they want another video? Are your withdrawals unlocked forever? Obviously not, as the company would soon go bankrupt. We advise NOBODY to create a fake promotion video for this application. The promotion you create will obviously need to be fake as they’re even providing you with a withdrawal confirmation screen to use, even though you haven’t received any withdrawal. As soon as you create a promotion video for this app, you’re promoting the scam to more victims. DON’T DO IT. We haven’t noticed their sister applications trying to get you to create promotion videos as it stands.
With other websites likely by the same developers, namely WalkBoost and Walkio, StridePay also offers the same ‘daily’ type reward system for watching videos. It isn’t designed in the same way, and when you watch enough videos you’ll be greeted with this message:
Therefore, unlike the developers sister applications, they have gone the full hog on this application, designing it to be an outright scam.
Our Conclusion
You’re obviously a hustler, trying to figure out, Is StridePay Legit? Unfortunately, this application as it stands in an outright scam. There is no benefit whatsoever from having the application downloaded on your iPhone. You should probably just delete it immediately and leave it with the one-star app review it deserves.
