Walkio – What is it about?
After an in-depth review of WalkBoost, we’re now being asked a similar question, Is Walkio legit? Walkio is another iOS walking application that offers you various rewards for walking, or moreso for watching video advertisements. Walkio has an extremely similar interface to Walkboost and StridePay. The developers are supposedly different, although we’re quite sure these dodgy apps are ran by the same people.
How Does Walkio Pay?
Walkio offers very similar payment methods to Walkboost and StridePay, although don’t expect to receive any payment from most of the methods offered. Walkio offers payment via Paypal, Visa, Mastercard, Bank Transfer, Amazon, Google Pay, Boletol, Paytm, STCPay, Mada, Paypay, Linepay, Dana, Truemoney, Alipay, Wechat pay, Jazzcash, Grab, Zapper, Oxxo, Picpay, Giropay, Cash app, Trustly, Sepa, Zalopay, Pay, Dragonpay and a LOT more. Offering such amounts of ways to ‘withdraw’ should be an instant red flag.

If you’re trying to find out; Is Walkio Legit? You’d probably think you could find some answers in the Apple reviews. At the time of writing Walkio reviews are slightly higher than Walkboost and StridePay reviews on the app store. Showing a score of 4.4, with a mixture of text reviews.

Let’s Investigate – Can you real earn using Walkio?
We discovered the Walkio app from a video advert from the Walkboost app. We’d highly recommend you read our in-depth review about them too as these apps share similarities and are likely owned by the same developers.
The application tracks your steps by linking your Apple health applications, you don’t need to have the application open for it to track your steps. Whilst earning ‘Suns’ via steps is possible, it’s probably the slowest way to increase your balance on Walkio. The main premise of the application is to spam you constantly with video advertisements. It will cost you a balance of 30,000 to withdraw $30, but will you ever receive the $30 after spamming a serious amount of video advertisements?
Once again, as we do with all of the walking apps we review, we reached the balance threshold to withdraw, so you don’t have to. Rather unsurprisingly, similarly to their ‘partner apps’ Walkboost and StridePay, withdrawing is not possible. Not because ‘quota’s are used up’ but because you’re required to obtain ‘fragments’ before being able to withdraw. You’re required to collect 50 fragments to be able to withdraw, which is hidden until you finally reach a high enough balance.
Fragments are obtained via clicking the ‘Lucky Chest Fiesta’ and watching two video advertisements will open the chest for you. Sometimes you’ll receive a ‘fragment’ which is a varying reward. If you obtain enough fragments for a reward, such as 10 fragments required for a Starbucks giftcard, don’t expect to ever receive the reward. It’s similar to Walkboost’s and StridePay’s welcome reward gift. They will never send it to you. The next question could be what happens when you finally receive 50 fragments an attempt to withdraw your balance? Well, the thing is, the app will offer you fragments relatively easily when you’re new to the app. As you watch more videos and open more chests, you’ll start receiving this when opening a chest, instead of a fragment:
Therefore, the app does not let you obtain 50 fragments and you can never withdraw your balance. Similarly to their partner apps, you’d be right in thinking about deleting the application immediately and maybe you should. There is however still a way to obtain some value from the application. When drawing a ball it will almost always land on an Amazon ball. If it was to land on a Paypal ball we’d still recommend you choose to receive your reward as an Amazon voucher as Paypal fee’s are taken by the app leaving you with an even smaller reward. Once your ball is drawn you’ll receive your voucher via Tremendous Rewards, a legitimate reward provider.
Once your reward link is generating you can choose Amazon, Paypal, Venmo or Bank Transfer. All but Amazon cost $0.25 in fee’s so it’d be unwise to choose anything different. The voucher will be converted into your local currency and following the procedure will apply to voucher to your Amazon balance immediately.
Our Verdict
You came here wondering, Is Walkio Legit? It is quite obvious this application is acting dishonestly, similar to their partner applications Walkboost & StridePay. The reason we have come to this conclusion is that it is not possible to withdraw your balance. The only value this application providers is by logging in and watching ten videos each day to withdraw your Amazon voucher. Due to the platforms being the same we also estimate an average earning amount of $4.50 by logging in daily and watching ten videos and ignoring every other aspect of the application.
With the whole fragments part of the application, don’t get excited when you earn enough fragments for a Starbucks voucher or even a Nintendo Switch. The application will never send you those rewards. It’s likely when enough people understand the only way to get any value from the application is by watching the videos then they’ll likely just turn full-scam.
